A distinctive hardy perennial plant, with a long history of medicinal use around the world. It is also an ingredient in biodynamic compost preparations, and the beautiful white flowers are lovely as a cut flower which are also very attractive to pollinators.
This is the wild white flowered variety with occasional hints of pink. Other common names include ‘Nosebleed’, and ‘Carpenter’s Weed’ reflecting its traditional use in wound healing. Yarrow has a remarkable ability to grow happily in a mown lawn, meadow or garden beds. It can be mown and remain low, but may grow up to 60 – 90cm tall in the right conditions

Semi-evergreen perennial, with aromatic leaves and flowers. Hyssop has traditional medicinal uses, particularly related to the respiratory system, and is also a great plant for pollinators. This is the traditional blue hyssop, which has beautiful bright blue flowers from summer to early autumn, up to around 80cm tall. It likes similar conditions to Rosemary and Thyme, so sunny and well drained.

Herbaceous perennial with bright yellow flowers from midsummer. St Johns wort has well researched medicinal properties, and a long history as a medicinal plant. It grows happily in a meadow or in a bed and gets 30-60cm tall. It self-seeds easily and spreads around. This is not a issue in the UK as it is a native wildflower.

Herbaceous perennial with beautiful soft leaves and white flowers with pink tinges on tall spires. The roots have traditional medicinal properties as a demulcent, and when boiled up form a soft mucilage, which is the basis of what we now know as marshmallows. Marshmallow will grow in damper areas, but will also thrive in a normal garden bed. It will grow 90-120cm tall.

Herbaceous perennial plant with spires of lilac/ purple flowers that are hugely attractive to wildlife. Korean mint grows up to 1m tall with flowers that are particularly interesting to hoverflies and bumblebees. It is one of the core 50 herbs in Chinese medicine, and makes a delicious tea which has a minty liquorice flavour. Once established the plants will expand gradually in a clump, which can be divided every few years.

Fantastic traditional ‘Veronese’ purple Savoy cabbage with bright green centre. This striking variety has been cultivated in the countryside around the Adige river in Italy since the nineteenth century and is on the official list of traditional rare varieties.
It has purple and green outer leaves and bright green-yellow centres. Forms a compact head with a sweet flavour, perfectly suited to salads, soups, and risottos. (Approximate seed count – 50)
