Asian Greens Seeds

Growing suggestions for asian greens seeds

For early spring salad sow asian greens seeds from mid-February under cover. For autumn or winter leaves sow them throughout July to October. Either direct sow in drills 15cm apart or sow in modules. Then transplant to final spacing. Pick the leaves individually or treat as cut-and-come-again. This makes them ideal for the small gardens, tiny plots and containers, for instance.

Crop history

Many of the Asian vegetables were introduced to the West by immigrant communities. But only when China began to open its doors more freely to the West in the 1970s, many of the Asian vegetables and greens became available in the UK. The diversity and productivity of Asian greens is astonishing. This makes them increasingly popular amongst gardeners, growers and chefs.
