A marigold variety that is great for natural dyeing and has gorgeous blooms in orange and yellow. Loved by pollinators for their strong scent, they are a reliable workhorse in the garden producing masses of cheerful blooms on slightly longer stems from July long into September. This variety is often grown as a dye plant, producing a deep and colourfast golden mustard on plant and animal fibres.

Multi branching variety with creamy lemon yellow blooms and dark centres. This is a special sunflower with lots of smaller, very pretty blooms. A tender plant which grows in temperate climates as an annual. Ashwagandha is a well regarded medicinal herb from the Ayurvedic tradition. It is now widely used in Western herbal medicine as “adaptogen” and to support the body’s defences and resilience. It will grow undercover in a greenhouse, polytunnel or large pot in a conservatory. Roots can be harvested at the end of the season. Grows 80 – 120cm tall.

Best sown thinly under vermiculite or sand and watered from below as the seeds are very small, plant out as soon as 2 true leaves have formed, they do not like root disturbance so handle gently.

Large double and semi-double creamy-yellow blooms with a contrasting dark centre disk. This is a wonderful new addition to our catalogue for 2024, we have totally fallen in love with this variety. The delicate and contrasting colours make it a superb addition to the garden and it looks wonderful in bouquets.
Its long stem length compared to other calendulas we’ve grown make it particularly suitable as a cut flower.
