We call the second half of summer the “Second Spring” as there is so much that can be sown which will provide you with tasty home-grown veg over the winter months.
It’s really satisfying harvesting stuff over the winter and winter crops are really fun and easy to grow. Spending time in your garden during all the different seasons is a wonderful way to connect to the cyclical aspects of nature.
Inside the Second Spring seed collection you’ll find ten of our favourite varieties for sowing later in the year. Each year we mix it up a bit as well as keeping some of the classics which you just can’t do without. It also comes with a handy full colour info-sheet about the varieties.

Red autumn and winter cabbage with a dense head and medium-good storage qualities. Rodynda is a variety bred specifically for organic conditions. It is vigourous and short-stemmed and forms dense, elliptical heads. It has strong outer leaves and solid root growth. The particularly sweet and aromatic flavour makes it perfect for a coleslaw and it performs brilliantly in a classic braised red cabbage dish cooked with apples and onions.
