    Pepper – Pepperoncini (Organic)

Small sweet pepper variety from Tuscany traditionally used for pickling. An Italian pepper with the occasional hint of spice. Pepperoncini are often pickled in vinegar, made into delicious antipasti or cooked whole, served with classic Italian foods like pizza or pasta dishes.

This variety belongs to the same family as bell peppers and hot tobasco chillies. Pepperoncini is an annual that favours hot, fairly dry summers. Normally harvested when glossy green, the pretty long wrinkly peppers turn red and exquisitely sweet if you leave them on the plant. Perfect for a little snack straight off the plant and a favourite when roasted or barbecued, served with olive oil and flakes of sea salt.

    Chilli – Lemon Drop (Organic)

Crinkly yellow chilli with a hot lemony flavour with a wide range of culinary uses. One of our most popular chilli varieties with a bushy growth habit and lots of fruits ripening from green to yellow.

The variety is also called Aji Limon and originates from Peru where it’s used as a seasoning pepper. Rating 30,000-50,000 SHU (Scoville heat units) it is quite a spicy one ideal for making your own hot chilli sauce with an extra citrusy twist or add it to stir fries, tomato sauces or your scrambled eggs.

To get good germination temperatures of 28° – 30°C are recommended. Germination can be slow and take three weeks or more. As it is thought to be genetically slightly closer to its wild relatives, there is some apparent seed dormancy which can affect germination rates. We have included a higher number of seeds in the packets to ensure you get enough plants.

    Aubergine – Cesky Rany (Organic)

Robust plants producing early violet fruits that have aromatic light green flesh.

This old variety originates in Czechia with “rany” literally translating to “early”. It is robust, productive and can deal with colder conditions than other aubergines. In the warmer and drier areas of the country it will even do well when grown outdoors.

The fruits are really pretty with their oval, drop like shapes and colours ranging between dark and light violet. Occasionally the green part at the top, the calyx, leaves patterns on the skin of the fruits which got us very excited about growing them.

    Chilli – Habanero Magnum (Organic)

Bright orange, very hot and fruity, a variety that is productive and does better in cooler climates than most other chillies. Habanero Magnum rates between 200,000 and 325,000 SHU on the Scoville scale and is therefore on the hotter end of the spectrum. A fruity almost floral flavour can be tasted when the initial spice has faded. It is a great ingredient for hot sauces or when powdered. A way of controlling the heat when cooking with it is to make a couple of holes in the chilli and then add it to the sauce (or whatever it is your cooking) as a whole and remove after a certain amount of time determining the degree of fieriness.
