Nicotiana tips:

Start indoors 4 to 8 weeks before the last frost in trays or pots. Sow seeds thinly and press gently into the surface, it needs light to germinate. Place in a warm location and keep moist; too much water might cause dampening off, compost should have moisture of crumbly chocolate cake. Harden off and plant outdoors after all danger of frost. Well-draining soil in sun or partial shade preferred.

Nicotiana can also be sown direct after the last frost. Sow seeds on the surface and water in lightly. Mix the fine seed with sand before spreading it over the ground.

Deadhead to prolong flowering, leave a few plants at the end of the season self seed.
