Sunflower – Sonja (Organic)

£2.35£6.90

A wonderful multi-headed variety, particularly for cut flower use. This beauty has become a huge hit on the cut flower scene, producing around eight strong stems per plant. The blooms are a compact 10-15cm diameter, with striking with deep yellow petals and dark centres. The plants are fairly small, growing to around four or five feet tall.

When to sow: March – June

Spacing: 40 x 40cm

Sunflower tips: Sow seeds under cover from March in 10cm pots and plant out once the last frost has passed, around mid-May.
Alternatively direct sow from May – June. Early plantings may need covering with fleece to protect from the cold.
Large varieties will need more space than smaller ones.
