Dark red almost black velvety blooms on long stems, a favourite in the flower garden.
We were absolutely taken by this elegant flower with dark crimson to burgundy colours, some really going into black with contrasting creamy white stamen. This scabious makes an amazing cut flower and keeps impressing throughout the summer months. Flower heads make way for lovely seed heads with the shape of pin cushions.
Can be used as a dye flower producing over green and blue to purple dyes depending on mordant and modifiers.

Golden orange with red flowers that have a feathery fragrant foliage. Tagetes is a very rewarding plant. It is easy to grow and produces an abundance of stunning yellow to red coloured flowers. It also makes a great companion plant as the scent is disliked by flies and other insects and the roots produce secretions that have insecticidal and nematicidal (against harmful nematodes) effects. It can also be planted in pots or containers and will embellish gardens, doorsteps and balconies.

The Hopi Black Sunflower is a heirloom variety stewarded by the Hopi people who used it’s dye in fabrics for basketry. This tall, branching plant with crisp white flower heads and finely feathered foliage provide invaluable additions to late spring and early summer bouquets. Ammi majus is one of the most useful and productive filler flowers you can grow from seed. Air dry flowers for two to three weeks in a dark, dry place for making dried flowers. Darkness is necessary to keep the flowers white.
