£2.35 – £4.20 Add to basket This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pagePeas – Heraut (Organic)
Very vigorous, tall-growing mangetout with violet flowers and ever-so-sweet pods. Heraut are delicious raw, when picked young and still flat, steamed or stir-fried, fantastic in salads and you can eat them ‘pod and all’. They produce an early crop of sugar snap peas on productive and hardy plants. If picked regularly, more growth is encouraged.
This variety is quick to be ready to harvest and has a great taste, too. So much so that we couldn’t resist snacking on it while growing it.

Broccoli – Early purple (Organic)
£2.09 – £4.00 Add to basket This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageBroccoli – Early purple (Organic)
A very popular and traditional variety of sprouting broccoli, producing an abundance of tasty spears from late March . We love Early Purple broccoli, it comes at a time of year when we are in serious need of some green vegetables that are not kale, chard or leeks! We can quite happily eat it with every meal during its harvest window. It is very versatile, being great seamed, stir fried, roasted, added to soups and stews, put in omelettes… the list goes on.
It is slow growing and takes around one year from sowing to harvest but it is well worth the wait with each plant producing a lot of food. Plants can grow up to 1m in height.

Kale – Red Russian (Organic)

Recognisable by its flat, purple-tinged and tooth-shaped leaves; this kale is hardy, frost tolerant and very versatile. A productive plant, it reaches 90cm in height and can be harvested throughout the winter becoming sweeter after a frost. The tender young leaves are great in salads and larger leaves are attractive as well as delicious. This kale is so tasty you can eat it on its own, but it’s also a perfect addition to smoothies, salads and stir fries. You can get in the habit of adding it to most meals! In Scotland, kale used to be a mainstay of the traditional diet. So much so that to be “off one’s kail” means to feel too ill to eat.

Chilli – Lemon Drop (Organic)
£1.95 Add to basketChilli – Lemon Drop (Organic)
Crinkly yellow chilli with a hot lemony flavour with a wide range of culinary uses. One of our most popular chilli varieties with a bushy growth habit and lots of fruits ripening from green to yellow.
The variety is also called Aji Limon and originates from Peru where it’s used as a seasoning pepper. Rating 30,000-50,000 SHU (Scoville heat units) it is quite a spicy one ideal for making your own hot chilli sauce with an extra citrusy twist or add it to stir fries, tomato sauces or your scrambled eggs.
To get good germination temperatures of 28° – 30°C are recommended. Germination can be slow and take three weeks or more. As it is thought to be genetically slightly closer to its wild relatives, there is some apparent seed dormancy which can affect germination rates. We have included a higher number of seeds in the packets to ensure you get enough plants.
