Dwarf French bean with cream and pink dappled beans in pods that can be eaten fresh or dried.
This is a very versatile and strikingly beautiful bean. The immature pods can be eaten whole as green beans. When the pods change colour from green to cream and pink you can also shell and eat the beans inside. Or you leave them to mature fully and eat them then or dry and store.
Dwarf beans are good for growing in containers. They will generally grow about 45cm tall and crop slightly earlier than their climbing cousins.

A proper bell pepper with thick flesh and excellent, mild flavour. Plants produce large green fruits which mature to red when fully ripe. A productive plant with a spread of about 60cm which is very suitable for British summers. I pick these green to encourage more fruiting and because the taste is just excellent, raw or cooked. – Guest description by our friend Dan from Chagfood CSA!

Chilli – Habanero Magnum (Organic)
£1.95 Read moreChilli – Habanero Magnum (Organic)
Bright orange, very hot and fruity, a variety that is productive and does better in cooler climates than most other chillies. Habanero Magnum rates between 200,000 and 325,000 SHU on the Scoville scale and is therefore on the hotter end of the spectrum. A fruity almost floral flavour can be tasted when the initial spice has faded. It is a great ingredient for hot sauces or when powdered. A way of controlling the heat when cooking with it is to make a couple of holes in the chilli and then add it to the sauce (or whatever it is your cooking) as a whole and remove after a certain amount of time determining the degree of fieriness.

Chilli – Adam’s Sweet and Hot (Organic) ***NEW FOR 2026***
£1.80 Read moreChilli – Adam’s Sweet and Hot (Organic) ***NEW FOR 2026***
Remarkable chilli/pepper variety of sweet flavour with a fruity heat. Discovered by Adam Alexander in a market in Donetsk, Ukraine in 1989, this sweet and gently spiced pepper has been grown in South Wales ever since with plants selected for earliness and flavour. The fruits are slightly ribbed, flattened, and about the size of an apple. When eaten fresh they are exceptionally sweet, crunchy, and full of flavour, with a subtle heat towards the top of the fruit that makes them per definition a chilli, although we think of it more like a pepper.
Plants are short, stocky, and very productive, with red fruits that hold well once ripe. They can be grown outdoors in a sunny spot or under cover.
Firm favourite across the Vital Seeds team and number one winner of our 2023 pepper and chilli trials.
